Christmas Tags - Sketch/Pen Holder

Hello everybody!

This is a super quick project I whipped today. After finishing wrapping the presents, my daughter pointed that the presents had no tags! So how could they know which one belongs to her or her sister. I really don't have much time for stamping or print and cutting or layering and last year most of the tags I hung with twine came off because we open our gifts at my SIL's house in Charleston.

Santa Card - Print and Cut

Tomorrow is the last day of class at my daughter's school and she just asked me to make Christmas cards for her friends, oi! I have been in so much pain today, my heels hurt so much I can barely stand up or walk, well...everything hurts and I keep repeating to myself: Only 6 more weeks, only 6 more weeks! I have never wished the year was over so badly like I do now hahaha.

Anyways, back to the cards...

Rhinestones and baby blanket.

Hello, hello!! Yesterday was my daughter's 7th birthday and this is the second year I get to make her a birthday shirt using my Cameo. Remember last year's post? Find it here for the rhinestones tutorial.

She wanted rhinestones this time and I was so excited to make something using the thousands of stones I got last year when Sil. America had the big Black Friday sale and New Year's sale, lol

This is super quick, no tutorial since it was very late when I got a chance to cut my template and because the design has different colors of rhinestones, I had to put then ONE BY ONE. Having a quick pick was such a wonderful help but it still took me a while to set the stones in place.

Here is the cut out of my template

Of course you have to use the part WITH the holes but I love how clean my silhouette cut the template paper. I used the Rhinestone Template cut option that is already in the default settings. It worked perfectly! I had to put my paper on a mat because it was very small to fit under the rollers.

Here it is! A plain Old Navy shirt all "blinged" up :P

Now, onto baby things! Remember I was on self inflicted bed rest? LOL. Well, if you have ever been on bed rest you know how bad and boring it can get so I decided to take into another one of my hobbies, crocheting! So, I made an infinity scarf (haven't pictured it yet) and a baby blanket. I can't believe I finished the blanket in such short time! Just 4 weeks which could have been less if I could understand written crochet instructions. The body of the blanket came from a magazine but I ended up ending it my way because I could not figure out the complicated rumble of directions in the magazine.

The beginning (11/12/12)

Two days later, lol

Four weeks later 12/12/12

It is so beautiful and I can't wait to use it <3...only 51 more days left (give or take)

see ya next time!

Latest Projects - Kelleigh Ratzlaff's Designs

Good afternoon my dear followers and visitors. Today is a very sad day for this country, my heart is with the family of the victims affected by the tragedy in Connecticut.

Christmas Ornament

A couple days ago I saw a picture of this amazing Christmas ornament made out of paper, of course, on one of my Facebook Silhouette users group. The ornament was originally featured in the Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog. To be honest, I am a super fan of SU products but as expensive as they are, I doubt I would get into using their stuff exclusively. I have a craft budget to keep :P

Cameo Creations - Let it Snow Challenge

Hello my lovely readers!

It is Cameo Creations time! And this week we are getting into the Christmas spirit and we hope to inspire you to create and join us on this fun challenge.

For many of us, it is time of the year again, where we get ready to send update letters and Christmas cards to our families across the country or maybe the world (like in my case) This year, I planned on doing something quick and easy (ha!) instead of more elaborate and expensive cards like in previous years. Also, I decided that I would just send cards to my closest friends and family members and those who have sent us cards last year which, by the way, I like to save in a key chain ring.

Cameo Creations Blog Hop - Thanksgiving

Hello Dear Followers! And newbies too.

Today is blog hop day and we have a great reason for it: THANKSGIVING! Let me tell you that this is by far and if not the only American tradition/holiday I love. I wait every year and count down the days until Thanksgiving day, it is just my favorite time of the year.

Here is the line up:

Baby Shower

Finally!! My baby shower came and went and I am glad it is over because I did so much to make sure everything went smoothly that I am beat! I will probably won't be the host or co-host of anything for a long, long time (until Thanksgiving maybe hahaha)

I want to start by giving special thanks to my lovely friends who helped me create all of the cuteness for my party. Lisa Norris from Pretty Paper Graphics who helped me get the graphics for the main theme of my shower: Grey, Yellow and White little cars. I am not a fan of sports or any of the "traditional" nursery themes out there and I found the perfect colors and everything else at Pottery Barn Kids, there is where I got the inspiration from. Lisa helped me get the graphics and svgs to work with.

Trick or treat

Looks like somebody was ready for some trick or treating huh?

Muahahahaaaa!! I used one of my daughters' ugly dolls for the arms and legs, some fake blood (recipe courtesy of Jin from Under a Cherry Tree and I added the dawn suggested by one of her readers) and of course I had to incorporate my cameo on this little "craft", the pumpkin was made using last week's freebie from Pretty Paper Graphic's and a cupcake box from the silhouette store. I just cut the handles before adding the pumpkin from from PPG.

It was funny I went dressed like this to a Halloween party and one of my friend's friend was dressed as a doctor, we all had a good laugh with our matching costumes!!!

I hope you liked it too.

Halloween Treats - Cameo Creations Challenge

Hello my my friends!!

I am back with something so cute! This week we have a new Cameo Creations challenge: Halloween Treats Holders! How fun! And I wanted to treat you with one of my very, very few favorite candies: KIT KATS!

I used the Vintage Suitcase by Lori Whitlock and it was so easy to create. I had been intimidated by it for so long but today I wanted to create something Halloween-ish and this is what I came up with.

Cutting Fabric with my Cameo

Hello my dear followers and visitors!!

Today, I wanted to  make a quick entry and show you what I have been up to this week. I am on voluntary bed rest again and to not go nuts while laying in bed, I started making some hair clips made out of fabric. I first started cutting my own squares by hand and made a couple Kanzashi style flowers that came out looking beautifully! (here are some pictures with the instructions)

It all started with some fabric, first remnants from the clearance bin at Joann. Later I learned that buying quilting squares are better for my cameo :D because I don't have to resize or cut much. Here are some of the fabric I picked (that I haven't used)

3D Cameo Creations Challenge.

Welcome crafty friends to a new Cameo Creations Challenge! Today, I will be your host. Thank you Monica for the great opportunity to be part of your awesome Design Team.

I got to choose the theme for this challenge. I wanted to make something in 3D and that includes things with dimension and my favorite are boxes! You know I love Kelleigh Ratzlaff's templates and I chose two of her files to work with. the first one is a Soap box.

The paper for the box and the rosette are patterns from the Silhouette store and this cute witch is from the Monster Mash Cutting file by Pretty Paper Graphics. I chose to do a print and cut instead of SVG piecing because the witch was too small and I didn't want to deal with the tiny pieces.

Favor Bag and Hourglass Box

Today I took a break from my self imposed bed rest (boo!!) I have sciatica and the bigger this baby gets, the worse I feel the pain on my legs and lower back. I think I might have to start going back to the chiropractor again.

Now, onto crafty business :D

I made had the opportunity to work with two templates from Kelleigh Ratzlaff's store. The first one is seriously the cutest box EVER, you just have to have it in your library, it is seriously a MUST! This is my super duper favorite template of all times, including the files from the silhouette store. It is the Hourglass Box, look how cute it is! And so easy to put together, I might use this one for my baby shower favors.

Clover Box and Little Girl Cards - Kelleigh Ratzlaff's Designs

Hi there! Today I wanted to show you two super duper cute templates part of Kelleigh Ratzlaff's designs. A Clover Box and a set of Baby Cards.

First, the clover box:

This was so easy to put together and decorate, I had so much fun playing with it and I am sure you will too.I love that Kelleigh's templates require very little adhesive and a few folds to get the final design beautifully ready to decorate. The butterfly and rosette files are from the silhouette store, I made an offset of the butterfly at 0.75 and cut it on a piece of leftover acetate I had from a stamp set I got in my stash (see, a frugal way to get the most out of your crafting supplies)

Football Cards and More

WOW, it feels like it has been forever since I last played with my cameo but the cable FINALLY came in and I was able to play some on Wednesday, I rested yesterday because we had a busy, busy day at the doctor's office and running errands but everything is OK and it is time to post what I have created so far.

The Cameo Creations blog hop was Fall/Football themed and these are the cards I had ready to go but couldn't cut because of the broken power cord.

The first card I made was this football helmet card, I used Pretty Paper Graphics cut file and it was so easy to put together. I made a mirrored copy of the helmet base, lined it up with the other side and welded the shaped together. If  you are doing this for the first time, I would recommend you to show the grid on your mat just to make sure the shapes are aligned and they will close evenly.

Back to School Blog Hop - Kelleigh Ratzlaff's Designs

Hello crafty friends! School is back on, yaay!! Well, for some of us, lol. I have to drive my daughter every morning to and from school because we do not like the school ratings of our school district. Anyways, back to school means MORE time to craft! I have made two projects in one week and today I will show you my first one. Make sure you come back next week to see the other back to school craft I made.

Did you know that The Digichick store crashed? Boy was that a mess! Kelleigh and the other talented designers that to work really hard to put their designs back in the web, the store is back up and working and we decided to just do a hop for the reopening of Kelleigh's store.

I have used this classic shape: Fancy Bag Template.

Getting Ready for Saturday's Blog Hop

Shadow Box - Cameo Creations Challenge

Helloooo there!! This challenge should have been the easiest one ever since the theme is ANYTHING GOES, but it was one of the hardest times for me to come with an idea of what to do for today's project. I had so many things in mind but when I tried to execute these things, nothing came together and my inspiration was GONE!

Anyways, a couple of weeks ago I got a big order from Unity Stamps, they had an online garage sale and lots of their loose stamps were up for grabs in these little packs. To be totally honesty, I wasn't too thrilled with what I got because from all things they had, this chick that doesn't scrapbook got a bunch of journaling and scrapbooking related stamps lol. I was giving myself a hard time trying to figure out what to do with these stamps. There was a balloon stamp that caught my eye, I knew I wanted to use it for my next project and here it is:

Father's Day Bog Hop

Welcome to My Dad's the Greatest Blog Hop. Today we are honoring our Husbands, Dads, Grand Fathers, Uncles, and Big Brothers... Who ever made a significant, loving mark in your life? Do you remember your father being so big in your eyes, that he could protect you from anything? He was the one who would barbecue or mow the grass. He would go off to work every day and come home tired and still make time to laugh and play. He didn't mind that every Father's Day, he got a tie or slippers. He was our protector!!

Today we have some wonderful, talented women who would like to show that their Dad is the Greatest!! In case you get lost the hop starts at Pamela ~

  1. Pamela ~
  2. Colleen ~
  3. Miriam ~
  4. Kristy ~
  5. Nancy ~
  6. Ana Maria ~
    7.  Jaime ~

We will have Blog Candy!!! It’s a fun stamp set from Tim Holtz “Life’s a Journey” to one lucky winner that leaves a comment on every blog.

If you arrived from Jamie, then you are on the right track.

For this hop, I decided to use my Chomas Creations Pen Holder and my newest favorite crafting tool, the sharpie liquid pencil, OMG that pen is a must along with your Chomas pen holder, look at all the details on this sketch!!! All drawn with the sharpie liquid pen.

Also, I wanted to give this card dimension since it was a sketch and since I had some scrap sketches from my previous try outs of this one, I cut the fishing pole and used some Trendy Twine for the fishing string. My husband loves fishing and this card is going to be perfect for him, especially when he sees the sentiment I drew for the inside part.

The files and supplies I used are:

Kraft paper
Fishing Scene
Chomas Pen Holder *the sharpie pencil is too small to fit inside the Chomas pen holder but I took it apart and inserted the inside barrel and it worked perfectly, as you can see on this picture, or you can buy the marker holder to make it easier ;)

Thanks for stopping by. Now I must send you to Eileen to see what fabulous project she has in store for you!

Don’t forget, to qualify for the grand prize, you must leave a comment on all the blogs in the hop.

Happy Hopping!!
