Silhouette Blog Challenge

I saw the Silhouette Blog Challenge last week when it was first posted but I really don't like to scrapbook much. This is probably my third layout ever. The deadline for to enter the challenge is today and EVERYTHING with this work went wrong, EVERYTHING!

First, I was working for almost 40 minutes on it and then the studio froze! And after that it closed which was way before I could save it in a document, darn it! Then I opened it again and started from scratch. Changed things around, etc and guess what happened? My blade broke! I am glad it didn't break when I was cutting my main image, it kept of making funky shapes like with the stars and the sentiment. OMG it took me so long to figure out what was wrong with my cuts, a dull/broken tip blade.

Finally, I finished cutting everything, laid it on the table, glued my pieces and added some embellishments to it, I then got ready to take a picture of my layout and darn it again! My camera is dead! I forgot to charge the battery after taking lots of pictures at a friend's party. I said, fine! I have a spare battery which I couldn't remember where I left! I had no other option but to charge this dead battery, WHERE IS THE CHARGER?? When I found it, it was time to go get my daughter from school. So, I decided that I just had to either give up and not enter the challenge or walk away from my project and come back to it later, which is what I ended up doing. LOL

This is the layout Silhouette gave us to work with:

Personalized Thermos Containers

Two weeks ago my daughter forgot her lunch bag in the carpool lane while waiting for me. I knew I should have gone back and get it right then but the carpool police were pushing me to keep moving so we left, it was a Thursday. Friday I went to volunteer at school and took a chance to look for the lunch bag with no luck :(. It wasn't in the front office, it wasn't in the lost and found or in her classroom cubby. The lunch containers had her name written on the bottom. I really didn't care about the lunch bag but I was really upset nobody returned it, especially because it had the Thermos food containers (they are AWESOME) and those were expensive when I bought them! My daughter likes hot foods and taking her lunch to school in this food container made things easier. It keeps food hot for up to 3 hours (for us it was 5) and cold up to 5 hours (for us 6-8hrs)

Anyways, I had to buy new containers because obviously whoever found the lunch bag is not going to return it! and that sucks! What kind of example are they setting on their kids anyways? So I decided that this time I had to do something to make it VISIBLE that these containers belong to my daughter and what else than to personalize it with some vinyl I had left over (Oh My Crafts Vinyl) and this is what I came up with (some parts are blurry because I deleted the last name)

Mojo Monday 229 and JUGS 124 Challenges

Woohoo!! My husband too my 2 year old to the bookstore which gave me some time to finish my Mojo Monday and since I saw JUGS is having a color challenge, I decided to play both before DH brings my little one back.

The colors JUGS has this week are between my favorites for cards, I first was making a different background for this card using a damask pattern but the turtle is so playful that the damask looked too serious for my main image, so I ripped the stamped paper from my card base and started all over. Unfortunately I couldn't save my base but I was able to save my main image and embellishments, woohoo!!

Mojo Monday 228 and CR84FN Color Challenge

I am entering my card in two challenges this week, the Mojo Monday as usual and a new one: CR84FN Color Challenge, it is my first time entering the color challenge and it was fun!

All of the "ingredients" used on this card are 100% digital (except the embellishments of course) and the digital papers came from Design House Digital (I love that place!) Make sure you check them out since they always have fun and fabulous files for free. The sentiment is also a freebie but from MyGrafico, check out on the side bar--->

Love my Cameo blog hop

Hi everybody! If you have come from Tonya 's blog, you are in the right place.  If you just stopped by my blog today, click on this link,  to head to the start of this blog hop so you won't miss anything along the way!

This blog hop is to let the world know WHY we love our Cameos <3. I love mine because it has given me so many possibilities to create wonderful things with it. My machine is an essential part for my paper crafting hobby, I have mentioned over and over how much now I depend on my machine lol. From simple cuts to very small or intricate designs, my cameo does it ALL. Vinyl, rhinestones, fabric painting you name it! This machine is a dream! I am so passionate about my cameo that I want more people to share the joy and get their own. My friend Candice bought her cameo (first electronic machine ever for her) after she saw the things I made with it and that she too could create. I just LOVE MY CAMEO!!

Milk Carton and an Announcement

Two days ago I came across a Team Members Call to work with Kelleigh Ratzlaff's designs. I sent her my application with a couple of pictures of my favorite projects. To be honest, I never thought I would get a reply lol but to  my surprise Kelleigh replied to my application right away and invited me to join her team!! How exciting! I am thrilled to be work with her files. I remember telling Kelleigh that I had one of her files that I got as a freebie long, long time ago but never used it because I used to have a cricut but didn't have a third party software to open the SVG but now I can because I have the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition and my Cameo that cuts way better than the bug.

My first project was the milk carton file from her store. For this project I used the Yours Truly paper pack from Echo Park that I got at Archiver's. The flower is also from The Digichick store, I used a mister to wet the paper and give it an aged effect.

Valentine's Day treats

My daughter asked me to make some Valentine's Day treats for her class so I had to plan something quick because she gave me tomorrow morning as her deadline, luckily I had already bought some lollipops from Oriental Trading and pencils from Wal-mart.

For this project I used the silhouette pencil holder file from the store in the car and heart shapes. They are so cute! The circles for the pencil were too big and they kept falling off! My daughter gave me a great idea, why not temporarily glue the holders on the pencils! Fantastic!! It worked!

I had already reduced the size of the circles to 03.50 but it was still too big so if you don't want to glue the paper to the pencil I would recommend you re-size the circle to 0.345 or 3.40 whichever fits your pencils best.

Here is a screen shot of what I made. In order to do this you will have to select the image, right click, select: release compound, right click and select un-group, select the shape again and repeat release compound un-group until all the parts of this file are un-grouped. Then is when you will be able to re-seize the circles.

After separating the components of this file, I removed the middle heart, copied and pasted it to a new drawing window, added some text, grouped the images and replicated it to "fill page". I had to accommodate them again because I needed three extra hearts to complete my project. This is what it looks like before I printed it on re-positionable label paper.
Print and cut is so easy with the Silhouette Studio/Cameo/SD combos, I <3 my cameo.

I also made extra stickers to fit behind the lollipops

This project was very easy and fast. I think it took me more time to convince my husband to help me write the names on the stickers while I was cutting more files than to finish the whole thing, lol.

Oh! before I forget, this week I will be part of a blog hop for Chomas Creations, woohoo!! Check it out at Amy's blog for more details while I get my project ready, I will be using the Chomas Creations pen holder that fits all cricuts and silhouette machines. Awesome huh?

Come hop with us!!!

Thanks for looking!

Round or Square - Mojo Monday 226

Phew! I almost didn't make it!! Here is my entry for Mojo Monday 226. I have been uninspired lately that's why I haven't posted much, you know one of those funky moments when nothing comes right and you just give up. I am sorry for the lack of activity :) I hope you understand.

I chose the circle layout because I have made a circle template before and it was saved in my files. Anyways, here it is:

Have I told you how much I love my Cameo? OMG, this machine is so awesome! It helps me create so many things and sometimes with so little effort lol. It is really an awesome machine. Everything paper wise was designed using my cameo, print and cut to be specific. I printed the designer paper using some digital paper from Jessica Sprague Home Away from Home freebie and I just filled in the circles. In order to make the two half circles, I drew a nested circle and then used my knife tool to cut it in half, so easy! The sentiment is from the Silhouette Store.

Then I added some accent ribbon and a red flower on top of some pearls swirl. It came out looking so cute and not too girly. This card is perfect for my husband.

Thanks for looking!
P.S. Please don't forget to enter the second Cameo Creations ChallengeFor this challenge we will be giving away a $15 gift certificate from The Digi Bistro!! Woohoo!! Remember that all Silhouette owners are welcome to play. Have fun!

Cameo Creations Challenge - Valentine's Day Tag

Hi Everybody!

I hope you had a chance to play with us on the first challenge, Monica has the name of the lucky winner over at her blog.

If you remember my updated post about the Cameo Creations Challenge changes that we made, then this time is your time to play with us if you have a Silhouette cutter. We liked the Cameo part on the name and we decided to keep it but everybody with a Silhouette cutter is welcome to play with us.

For this challenge we will be giving away, by randomly picking the winner, a $15 gift certificate from The Digi Bistro!! Woohoo!! Have you checked it out? You can get all sorts of SVG shapes and graphics to use with your Silhouette cutter.

Since the Digi Bistro is sponsoring this challenge, we will be using the Funny Valentine's file for this tag (it comes in different formats)

The image was given to me in the SVG format but I have not paper piece in a long time, I decided to use it as a graphic for print and cut, I added some 3D foam squares to give it some dimension and a red ribbon to add some contrast.

So, come play with us! The theme for this challenge is to make a Valentine's Day Tag using a scalloped shape and a button. Remember, if you could win a $15 gift certificate from The Digi Bistro.

That's all for today! Happy crafting everybody :-)
