I hope you had a wonderful week and you hoped with us on the Cupcake and Twine Challenge/Hop. Today we are going to present you with a new challenge, the theme is: POOL PARTY!!
Maybe this card does not look too much in that category but I love the bathing suits file and I wanted to use. The papers were from my digital stash and have NO IDEA who the designer is. If you know, please let me know.
I also wanted to talk a little bit about the new cut settings in the studio, have you noticed that the "cardstock" setting is gone? I have been looking for it but it is not there anymore. Actually, there are a bunch of original cut settings that no longer exist on the menu and now you have to add your own. I like that idea but at the same time, the default cut was changed too, boo to that!
There is an excellent post over at the Silhouette Plus Forum about this topic and Kelly (she's marvelous!) has updated the old list with the new cut settings from the latest update. I recommend you hop over there and print that PDF because it will be so useful.
And this is what I found out today after I cut different paper weights.
WARNING: USE A SUPER STICKY MAT WHEN CUTTING SMALL PAPER PIECES!
The patterned papers are my usual paper for print and cut (epson deluxe presentation paper) that one cut just fine at Sp 3/Th 33/B3, same setting for the white paper (cheapo paper from Officemaxx which I hate but I need to finish the pack)
The brown paper is super thick paper I got at Archiver's, it is good as a card base but I had this leftover piece I needed to use, it is by the Paper Company and it cut like butter when I used the coverstock setting: Sp1/Th33/B7...it was perfect! I have never cut small sentiments or details on this paper because the blade would simply not go thru or just make a mess on the mat. Today was a good day!
The prize for the winner of this challenge is: Peachy Keen Stamps Simple Sallie pk-532, so you know the drill! Head over to Monica's and link over to your project (not your blog) made using your SILHOUETTE machine (not any other cutters please) and the project has to be new.
That's all I have for today...oh, snap! I forgot :) Baby No. 3 is on the way and this is how we announced it on my Facebook.
My 2.5 year old was a mess!! Hahaha!! Everybody got a good laugh at this picture and the girls were even on the cover of Cafemom.com but the funny thing is that DD was crying because I took the iPod away and made her sit for the picture. She didn't want to hold the ultrasound at all and said there is no baby in mommy's belly. I think she is still too little to understand what's going to happen right after her 3rd birthday in January of next year LOL
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can enter this week's challenge too.
