Minnie Mouse Birthday Banner and T-Shirt
Today is my baby girl's 3rd birthday and the last as the baby of the house! So, I had to make something special for her <3. She asked me to make her a Minnie and Mickey Mouse themed "party" and since I am STILL pregnant and in the last home stretch, there no much energy left for a big party but we invited just a couple of her closest friends to come over for pizza and ice-cream.
Anyways, here is what I made, everything so simple but cute and I wanted to share with you.
This will be our first time not throwing a Mac Daddy party, lol. I always throw big parties for the girls but there is no time for that right now, so maybe next year.
The mouse head was easy to find online, I traced it and cut in black cardstock, now the bow...that's another story! I couldn't find one that traced perfectly or that was high quality to do pnc and it was so late when I started working on this project that I knew I wouldn't have time to go to the store and get polka dot paper. So, I ended up using a bow from a silhouette pnc file. I will list it on the bottom.
I had some bazzil paper I got at archiver's (that's the pink on the big ears) and one of the back papers from the Yours Truly pack by Echo Park had a similar pink with embossed dots, looked kind of white. I used those papers to avoid going to the store...again! I got the ribbon years ago at Hobby Lobby, I believe.
I also decided to make these straw sleeves, a pack of 12 was $2.99 at the store and they weren't cute or personalized. So after searching around, I finally found a Minnie head with a pink bow in an OK quality for pnc (just Google Minnie ears and you'll find tons) I added some glue on the side of my white circle and glued it with the straw in the middle, don't put glue on the straw, just on the sides of the paper.
Finally, I had to make a T-shirt for the birthday girl! This was so easy to put together and I got to use my newest toy :D a rhinestone setter!! I also bought the iron, but don't bother getting it because it is JUNK! It has tons of warnings on the packet about it getting SUPER hot fairly fast and I had it hooked for 20 minutes, never got hot enough to burn my finger or to the fabric or much less to set the vinyl on this t-shirt. I had to get my regular iron and since baby was playing under me, I over heated my design a tiny bit :( so be careful with when you place the iron on top and move it around so you don't scorch your vinyl like I did.
The bow is store bought since I don't know how to make pretty bows lol and I sewed in a cupcake button on top. I tried sewing the whole thing on the T-shirt but it was too heavy without a backing, in the end I just used fabric glue and a piece of fleece.
That's all I got for today, I hope you liked it :)
Thanks for stopping by!
