Wedding Cake Card

Hello everybody!
Have you started following me on Bloglovin? (the link will be on the bottom of this page) Anyways, I love the way Bloglovin delivers its blog feeds. I get a daily email at night, right around bedtime and the other day I received an update for Kelly's blog: Finding Time to Create. She's so talented and the card she made was uh-mazing! I just had to get the file she used and it was just on time to inspire me to create a wedding card for my tenant who just got married a week ago.

The 3D Cake collection is from Crafting Creatures and it has so many possibilities, I love it! I chose the same file as Kelly but decided to use golden vinyl instead. I had some glitter paper I could have used but I like working with vinyl when I am cutting intricate designs. the sentiment was also cut in vinyl and the little flowers are by Recollections. I used them in the diaper cake I made for my friend's baby shower last year. They are so tiny and cute. I hope my tenant's wife likes this card as much as I do.

So here it is:

This is the inside of the box, it does not come in the file but I made the inner cover to glue on top of the page protector (I cut that a bit smaller to hide the glued edges under the paper) Well, it is easy to do, just draw a rectangle around the the inside part of the cover and cut it. Then glue the plastic first and the cardstock on top. It looks cleaner this way.

Here is the card inside the box.

That's all for today, sorry I have not been updating my blog often enough but now I am crafting whenever I can and my free time is so scarce with an infant at home (He will be 3 months on Friday, WOW!) but lucky us, he has started sleeping longer at nights. The only one giving us a hard time is my 3 year old, that kid has so much energy that she usually goes to bed after 11pm!

Thanks for looking at my blog today, go grab that Crafting Creatures cutting file because it is soooo soooo cool! And you will use it over and over and over again. I know I will.

Happy Crafting!

  1. I like your alteration to the box; nice and clean. This is such a great file, and I love what you did with it. I can't wait to see what else you make with it! My gears are turning, working on coming up with the next variation.
