New Hobby - Hooded Towels (Embroidery)

I am sorry sorry for being so MIA! But I have been super busy with a new hobby, I bought an embroidery machine and I started making lots of cute things! Here are some samples of what I am able to make with my new machine and hopefully, soon I will be able to use my cameo with it.

Oh the DRAMA!!! Bringing my Cameo back to life!

OMG, last week I thought I lost my Cameo. I was so sad! I had nightmares about never ever owning a Cameo again because they are so expensive and well, I don't work anymore so my craft budget is limited!

After posting my sad, sad news on the Silhouette Plus Forum, some of the ladies suggested I tried a new power supply cord. This never occurred to me because 1, there was a storm that burned part of my computer, 2, the power supply cord I had on my Camie was BRAND SPANKING NEW! It was a new cable that was sent to me after I found out my previous cable was recalled for being a "bootlegged" one (we are on cable #3 over here...HELLO! Silhouette America, can you make a more sturdy one?)

Anyways, fast forward to TODAY! A lovely lady from a local yard sale group has a Cameo, she asked me to teach her how to use her machine before and I kindly asked, well...more like begged her :D to let me borrow her cable to check if that was the problem and sure enough! That was IT! The cable got fried, either with the storm or whatever...who knows and right now WHO CARES!!! My Camie is alive and she has company!!!
 Check inside!

Fabric Luggage Tags - Cutting Fabric W/Silhouette Cameo

It's back to school time!!! My oldest needed tags for her backpack and lunch bag and I was going to buy a pair from Target, $12.99 but then I decided to put my cameo to work and make my own fabric tags. It was very simple!

Painted Wooden Sign

Our friend asked me if I could make a sign for his pool, he's an attorney and he knows he better be safe than sorry so he wanted something that warned swimming visitors that they were entering the pool at their own risk. Pretty smart I tell ya!

So this is what I made!

More screen printing with my Cameo

Remember I made shirts for my Step-daughter's mom using my cameo to screen print on them? See this post

Yesterday I made new ones for my husband and son, they both wore matching shirts to support The Netherlands, I pulled the image from goggle, traced it and cut 651 vinyl, I used the negative as my template. The soccer ball is layered HTV, just like in the Germany team shirt I made for a friend.

Here are some pictures and I will explain how I did it,

Like I said, I traced my image and set the cut lines. (the bon appetite is an extra design I was trying to put on a salad bowl, it didn't work out because the surface was non slip and the vinyl would not stick on it)

Hello there!!!

Helloooooooo!!! Anybody in here? LOL. I am soooooo sorry I have neglected my blog so badly, life has been CRAZY busy but luckily I have been having more time to craft, just not to share with you. I have been posting my crafts on my Instagram. If you want to follow me here is the link. FOLLOW ME

Today is one more World Cup game, I only watch Futbol (or soccer for the Americans lol) every four years and of course I am rooting for some Latin American teams and The Netherlands :D (since Spain is long gone! BOOOOOOO!!!)

I made this shirt for my friend, my husband and him are going to watch the Germany-France match at a French restaurant ha! They will probably be the only ones rooting for Germany at that place today. Silly boys!

Screen Printing With my Cameo

Hello my crafty friends! Today I have something awesome to show you, you will want to try this one!

My husband's ex wife is participating on the Walk to End Lupus Now and she wanted to make some "team" t-shirts. I offered her my help and my step-daughter joined me in the fun too. I didn't have HTV to make 10 shirts but I thought, how about fabric paint? I saw some tutorials online about using my cameo to cut the stencils but I wanted to make something that would last me at least the 10 shirts I needed to paint and I remember my parents do screen printing, duh!

After watching several YouTube videos on screen printing I was set on going that route until....I realized I needed so many supplies I didn't have! Starting by the paint, booo!! Then I bit the bullet and went to Hobby Lobby where I found this beauty!

Fresh Bread Bag

I have told you ho much I enjoy using my cameo for all kinds of crafts around the house, this project is in the list of my favorite projects ever.

For some reason I have been waking up around 2:30-3:30 am! Maybe it is my mommy clock still out of schedule because of my son (we are still nursing, 15 months and he seems to not be done yet lol) and I decided to put my sleepless nights to good use, by pinteresting hahaha!!! But I came across great stuff, like baking your own bread.

Cake Doily

I loooove using my cameo besides paper crafting. It is my way of showing my husband (who gets grumpy when I paper craft lol) that buying my cameo was totally worth it!

Last week was my friend's birthday and I wanted to make something special for him and his son (his birthday too) so I decided to bake, yes you read that right! BAKE! lol, a cake. I have an awesome, fool proof, no fuss recipe from Meaningful Mama. Check it out, you won't be disappointed AT.ALL. because it tastes so homemade nobody will ever be able to tell it came from a box lol.

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons - Guest Designer

I am so happy I had I chance to create with one of my favorite designer's SVG and graphic files, Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons! If you are my follower, I am sure you have seen the projects I have made using their files before and I applied as soon as I read they were calling for Guest Designers on their Facebook group and blog.

For this opportunity, I wanted to use the Home Sweet Home cutting files because I my dear friend's son and fiancee just purchased their first home and I wanted to make something special for them. Have you seen those card boxes that are the "it" now? There are many in the silhouette store but I can show you a super easy tutorial video to make it, even if you don't have a silhouette cameo or any other cutting machine.

Here is my card:

Print and Cut Cards

One of the many things I love about my Cameo is the print and cut feature, I needed to make some cards to keep handy in case we need one.

Here are some cards I made this past weekend.

Valentine's Day Crafts, Cutting Felt (and fabric) - Part 2

Well, I failed it! I tried to cut the thick felt from Joann's and I think it is too thick for our machine to handle. Since I wasn't sure if my felt cut was going to be a good one, I decided to use the wonder under to cut fabric (cotton) and it was a beautiful success! Let me show you some pictures.

I first prepared my materials. slightly iron the wonder under on the back of the felt/fabric.

Cutting Felt with Silhouette Cameo - Part 1

I am baaack!!! Our vacation time is over, we left sunny Lima, Peru and came back to cold and grey Atlanta! I am happy to sleep in my own bed but not so happy about winter weather, I am not a winter person, it depresses me to no end! At least we were sitting by the pool the day Atlanta saw Snow Apocalypse happen. LOL
