Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons - Guest Designer

I am so happy I had I chance to create with one of my favorite designer's SVG and graphic files, Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons! If you are my follower, I am sure you have seen the projects I have made using their files before and I applied as soon as I read they were calling for Guest Designers on their Facebook group and blog.

For this opportunity, I wanted to use the Home Sweet Home cutting files because I my dear friend's son and fiancee just purchased their first home and I wanted to make something special for them. Have you seen those card boxes that are the "it" now? There are many in the silhouette store but I can show you a super easy tutorial video to make it, even if you don't have a silhouette cameo or any other cutting machine.

Here is my card:

This is how the box lays flat. I added the picket fence as a nice touch when I open the box.

The designer paper is from the Spring Fling digital paper set. My card base is just AC cardstock from my stash.

And the back was stamped using My Thoughts Exactly stamps (discontinued)

Here is a closer view of my box card. I printed my images and digital papers in core'dinations white textured paper. It prints and cuts as good (even better I would say) as AC cardstock. A cheaper option too. I used my canon Pixma MX882 to print.

And the best explanation on how to make the box card can be found over at Splicoast Stampers (Lots of great inspiration, techniques and tutorials!)

I also made a card for my friend's son's birthday using one of my favorite files, the Minion cut set.

To make this card, just import your favorite minion from the set onto your mat, offset the image, mirror replicate and weld. Easy peasy! Print, fold and add your sentiment! Inside of mine says: You are One in a Minion! (forgot to picture it)

I want to thank Lisa for giving the opportunity to design for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I had so much fun using her files and I hope I can do this again.  Don't forget to like PPPR on Facebook and become a blog follower. They offer amazing freebies every Friday, like this one:

Thank you again for visiting my blog today.

Happy crafting!
